Ethanol works in Brazil because they use sugarcane and the workers are virtual slaves. In the US, it won't work without massive subsidies.

Ethanol has always been a bad idea. Despite the marketing that the farm interests have been doing, it seems that more ane more people are seeing what a bad idea it is.

They probably figured out theprice of corn for the table is getting too expensive, because they would rather turn it into fuel. Beside, the fuel economy of E85 sucks.

E85 is crap. That fuel corrodes the combustion system on the vehicle and it is not fuel efficient at all.

E85 would be fine for engines that can run it if the price was low enough to match the lower mpg.

E85 has never been the answer. The US government refuses to look at the Brazil experience, where ethanol works because of the massive biomass they have in a tropical environment to convert into CHEAP ethanol.
The E85 mix has been a joke, not easy to find and lower MPG. Add to that the higher cost of the vehicle because of the modification fees, you have another example of government's failure to think things through.
