Mass. DOT's 'green' initiatives need to start at home, all 700 of them

GasBuddy Blog -- It's become fashionable for transportation officials at every level of government to tout their interest and compliance with 'green' energy initiatives.

Just last week Massachusetts DOT Secretary and CEO Richard A. Davey announced the launch of his 'GreenDOT Implementation Plan' to build responsible environmental stewardship into all the state's transportation activities.

I thought that the Mods were neutral on issues of energy, politics, and Green initiatives......SILLY Me!

Smarmy comments such as, "It's become fashionable," "But you may want to hold your applause," "it all sounds great on the surface, doesn't it?" "Just how many of those folks do you think ride bicycles to work?"

A plethora of negative comments little related to the Mass. initiative. I would suggest that Mods and their BLOGS take the time to reflect on serving the entire Member community...and not just a minority, albeit vocal, part. SAD really!

we brought up the next generation mostly to waste, waste, waste and consume as if money grew on tree. Gonna be hard to change that attitude.

There is always someone who cannot resist saying that there is more that can be done. Try giving kudos for what they are doing. Of what you praise and reward you can expect to get more. Some idiots actually thing that theory X management works, i.e. the beatings will continue until morale improves.

Hold onto your pocketbook Massachusetts. The only way green programs are afforded are when they are paid for by governments who enjoy wasting taxpayers hard-earned money.

As the blog notes, more than promoting "green", this is a money scheme designed to funnel taxpayer funds to a privileged group of otherwise unproductive public sector workers.

Green needs to be more reasonably priced for the average consumer to help in that direction.

I think the best global warning solutions act would be to gore the greenies.
Whatever happened to global cooling and the coming ice age that I heard so much about in Geology 401 in the sixties? The earth was between ice ages, the oceans were (and are) over their continental shelves, and each successive advance of the ice in the previous 4 cycles went progressively farther toward the equator.
