Diesel has been at $4.15 since pretty much the beginning of the year around here. At 30 or more cents higher than gasoline, it's starting to almost not be worth buying another diesel truck when mine gives up as the difference barely makes the higher efficiency of the diesel really useful. Even when towing.

Highest price here is $3.99.
Gotta love that Canadian crude, which is a good reason to oppose Keystone XL.

When you shop around in the country-side / good deal "off name brand" deals can be found still under $4!

There are no stations anywhere in my travels that are under $4 a gallon. In fact the Long Island Gas Prices site shows only three stations at 3.979. Everyone else is 3.999 and above.

Forget gasoline, diesel topped $4 a month ago. The higher the price for fuel (either gasoline or diesel) the higher the price for food, goods and services, personal transportation, public transit, airline passenger and freight transportation and their related fees AND many many more items all tied to higher fuel costs. Higher fuel costs and Barry's economy takes that much longer to get better but he will say something different. It does NOT help when Big oil is selling fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices but there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction (the oil tax collection). The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pays higher prices at the pump for their benefit. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

You can thank the "greens" for forcing through a bill to reduce sulfur in diesel fuel. This is what forced diesel from being the cheap fuel to being the most expensive. As Obama said, "yes we can." Just wait until the end of Obama's second term when gas and diesel pass $8 per gallon.

i could have sworn i replied to this topic this morning or another topic saying the exact same thing. diesel costs more because big earl knows they have the trucking industry over a barrel unless the gov'ment steps in and puts a freeze on diesel pricing, but then they will just raise gas prices to cover what they "speculate " : ) they will lose in sales of diesel. either way the public loses unless we drown them in their own product then fuel prices will come down in a split second. : ) hahahahaha what's that saying- hoist them by their own petard. : )

This is so true! And the only diesel prices being higher than gas is prue greed! The oil companies used to charge LESS for diesel than gas, since the fuel is less refined and SHOULD COST LESS!!! Oil companies know that trucks have to buy diesel to run the roads. And, the cost of everything else goes up because of it...

So, others are noticing the constantly higher grocery prices? Funny how there is no inflation though.

People run on gasoline, the economy runs on diesel. The reporters run on gasoline. Only when the reporters have a vested interest in diesel do they report on diesel prices.

Low sulfur really moved the price of diesel up but the european market being under supplied is hurting us here.
