Small firms prep for rise in gas prices

CNN Money -- Businesses that rely on fuel to get their products directly to customers are bracing for a sharp rise in gas prices.

Among those most affected are online grocers, Internet bakers and food trucks.

Some are considering options they took during the last oil price peak in 2008: jack up prices, shrink service areas and cut jobs.

Steve Rossen and Jana Fain-Rossen, the Los Angeles husband-and-wife team at online bakery Mardy's Munchies, might have to cut the job of one of their drivers.

"We're terrified," Fain-Rossen said. "We don't want to let anyone go, but we have a family to support. We're actually wondering if we should raise prices now in anticipation of prices going up so that we don't get hit later unexpectedly."

That's because the couple relies on a gas-guzzling Chevy pickup truck

Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using ‘other’ forms of transportation to help lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Big business and our feds don't feel this hurt. We get it at the gas pump and then most of our retail shopping will hit us because of fuel cost increase - not to mention any vacation travel we might have planned for this spring and summer.

Hint its the one that gets the best MPG for typical users. And then drive it slow and steady. Speed eats fuel, shortens longevity and reduces safety all which are bad for TCO.

Then the receiver of those goods will raise their prices to make up what they had to pay for the increase in fuel cost and means the CONSUMER will foot the bill and the economy will get worse. We have sufficient oil in our own country to satisfy our needs but are being 'blackmailed' by our own gov't and it's leaders(if there are any).
